Ever felt the need to create free hand angel wings designs but didn’t have the inspiration? I know I have and it’s happened to me many times since I’ve had to draw a sketch for free on a sketch pad. This is probably how you’re living your life, if you’re anything like me. You don’t need to worry about finding a good photo. Create your own sketch.

Now that you’ve read this, I’m sure you’re familiar with the angel symbol. You may even have an idea of the kind of wings angels have. Let’s go ahead and determine how we can create our own angel wings design now.

The first step is to select a photo you want to use as a template. Since you’re using an image it doesn’t matter which size you choose. It doesn’t matter if the image is great unless you’re looking to create an entire replica of angel wings. For example, if you were to create a complete angel wing, you should pick a picture that’s approximately 3 inches by 3 inches. Any larger would look wrong after you’ve finished drawing it.

Once you have selected the image you want to use, it’s time to get to work. Learn how to create an easy wings overlay. To make your wings appear straight, draw a straightline across the middle of angels wings your sketch. Next, add details to your wings with thin dark strokes. This will allow them to stand apart from the original sketch.

Once you’ve done all of that, you’re now ready to put the two wings together. Use pens or pencils to begin lining up the wings because even when you’re able to get it right initially, you’re bound to miss some details or line up the wings a little differently which will change everything. If you’re just drawing with pencils the basic outline of wings, you can add any details. Once you are happy that your image resembles a wing then you can work on adding details, such as the inner lining of angel wings or the fringe that is running around the outer edge.

To make the entire process go more smoothly, make a rough sketch of your final product prior to when you start doing any other work. This can be done with markers or even paper. Next, decide if you want to create an angel wings overlay with freehand. Or if you prefer to use stencils. A stencil can help you achieve better results. You are less likely to make mistakes and have more control over the final outcome. After you are satisfied with the look of your wings, you are able to print your custom-made angel wings to match.
